WHY FOOTBALL (how football entered your life and why do you still love this sport)?
Football entered my life at the age of 4 years old. I was inspired by my cousin who played for Stanmore Hawks at the time. He was a great player and forever kicking and juggling the ball in his backyard. Whenever I visited my auntie’s house my cousin and I would play together. I enjoyed watching him and wished I could play as good as him.
12 years later, my passion for this sport increases. I love that it’s a team sport. I love the skills I am constantly learning to better myself. I love the fitness and wellbeing which is highly recommended to all teenagers. I love the challenges I am facing. I thrive on my weekly games and the training I commit to whether its club training or solo training.
WHY SDB (how did you hear about SDB and why did you choose us)?
At the age of 6 years old I registered for club soccer (Bexley North FC). My team consisted of 6 boys and myself. Throughout the year all parents would come up to me and compliment my style of playing. I was told I was strong, fearful and played better than the boys. One of our family friends mentioned SDB to my parents and thought it was the place for me to grow as a player. I was enjoying football so much and just wanted to improve. Also my parents felt that I needed to step up and get better coaching. At the age of 7 years old, I registered with SDB. It was a turning point. Not only did I receive amazing coaching but I played with an amazing skilful boys’ team. It was certainly another level and I needed to step up and keep the same pace as those talented boys.
HOW HAS SDB IMPACTED YOUR FOOTBALL STYLE (explain the SDB Effect on you)?
SDB has given me a great foundation to football. The correct way of passing and receiving a ball, running into space. The technique aspect which has helped me to have the ball close to my feet at all times. Understanding movements to beat player one on one and also helped me to understand defensive duties. The technique and skills I have learnt through SDB has now labelled me as a technical player. I feel I am so technical compared to most female players and that is all due to SDB.

I am very happy with what I have achieved with my football. I have represented NSW in Coffs Harbour 3 years in a row. I have played at the Dallas Tournament Cup in America, in France during Women’s World Cup 2019 and England. My next goal is off course to make the national team and represent Australia. My dream is to gain full scholarship at an American College and play division 1 and 2 in USA. I know with perseverance, dedication and hard work I WILL MAKE IT.
